James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool, England, and is best known for being a member of the Beatles, and later Wings. Linda Eastman was born on September 24, 1941 in Scarsdale, New York, and became a renowned music and nature photographer beginning in the sixties with her work in such magazines as Rolling Stone.
Linda had previously photographed such musical artists as the Rolling Stones, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin and was invited to the release party of
the Beatles' 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. There, she first met Paul McCartney. Later, they would see each other once again at the famed British nightclub, Bag 'O Nails, where legend has it, Paul stopped Linda just as she was about to leave the club, altering history. Through the next two years, Paul and Linda saw each other occasionally,
but finally decided to exclusively date one another when Paul's longtime relationship with actress Jane Asher fell apart. Finally, on March 12, 1969, Paul and Linda were married in London.
Together, Paul and Linda had four children: Mary, Stella, James, and Heather (from Linda's previous marriage, but was adopted by Paul). They chose a "normal" life for their children, spending most of their time in the country and on their farm. However, when Paul and Linda formed Wings, a musical staple of the 1970's, the children were also carted around on world-wide tours to preserve the McCartney family structure.
Paul and Linda were also
famous for their crusade for animal rights. Linda wrote a few cookbooks showcasing a variety of vegetarian recipes, and even came out with her own line of frozen dinners.
Sadly, on April 17, 1998, at the age of 56, Linda died of breast cancer, ending the McCartney's 30 year love affair. For fans and friends alike, the relationship between Paul and Linda still serves as a model of a truly wonderful and loving relationship through the toughest of times.
In general, a fanlisting is just a place for fans of a certain thing, such as a TV show, a band or in this case, a person, to come together to share their love. For more fanlistings, please visit TheFanlistings.org.
I created this fanlisting for Paul and Linda McCartney because I honestly believe they were soulmates. Their love will last forever, as corny as that sounds.
The name My Love was taken from a song by Wings that was written by Paul, for and about Linda. View the lyrics here. Also, for the layout, I used a photo of Paul, Linda, and her daughter, Heather, on their wedding day.
